Hundreds of lorry drivers have been harassed: National Highway Blockade Drivers.

Hundreds of lorry drivers complained of police harassment in the name of lorry checking. As a result, the united drivers blocked the Assam-Agartala National Highway at Churaibari Gate, the entrance of the state, from Wednesday morning. The agitating drivers said that they have been kept at Churaibari for four to five days in the name of search, as a result of which they are not able to reach their destination on time.

The drivers made more explosive allegations against the Churaibari police. The police have to pay Rs 500 to 1500  per vehicle for each lorry search. Still not checking properly. Harassment is being done only in the name of search.

Meanwhile, they expressed their anger against the Tripura police and said that for installing scanner machines here, it might be possible to search cars quickly. For four or five days today, there is a long line of small and large cargo lorries and empty lorries from Churaibari Police’s Naka Point to the Tripura border, which is about one and a half to two kilometers long.

So they complain that they are being harassed. They are drawing the attention of the Chief Minister of the state through the media for quick resolution of the matter.
Meanwhile, Churaibari police station OC Samaresh Das said that due to the constant smuggling of ganja from the state to outside the state, there is pressure on them from the police sub-district.

As a result of which every product from the state is being released by combing the empty lorry including the lorry. As a result, due to the lack of proper fencing in front of the police station area, their movement is relatively slow. The matter is also under the notice of District Superintendent of Police Bhanupada Chakraborty. If their inspection system is not made faster and modernized, the suffering of lorry drivers will continue to increase.

Now the Superintendent of Police takes action is to be seen!
On the other hand, general passenger vehicles and emergency services have come to a standstill due to the long queue of vehicles on the four lanes of the national highway.
