Manohar Lal Khattar out, Nayab Singh Saini in : Haryana

OBC leader and Haryana BJP chief Nayab Singh Saini has been elected the Haryana chief minister replacing Manohar Lal Khattar.

Hours after Manohar Lal Khattar resigned as Chief Minister of Haryana, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leadership chose OBC leader and party chief Nayab Singh Sain to take over the reins of the state. The resignation of Manohar Lal Khattar as Prime Minister was followed by the resignation of his cabinet, including three members of Deputy Prime Minister Dushyant Chautala’s Jannayak Janata Party (JPP). The BJP leadership, which did not get support from the JJP, met the governor, supported by five independent MLAs, to challenge the government’s demand.

The new chief minister is expected to be sworn in later today. In the 90-member Haryana Assembly, the BJP has 41 MLAs. It also enjoys the support of 5 independent MLAs and the Haryana Lokhit Party MLA Gopal Kanda. So staking claim to form the next government was not a herculean task for the BJP.

When some senior BJP leaders claimed to have supported Manohar Lal Khattar to be sworn in as the chief minister again, the BJP leadership announced the name of Nayab Singh Sain instead of Khattar. While some senior BJP leaders claimed to have supported Manohar Lal Khattar to be sworn in as the chief minister again, the BJP leadership announced the name of Nayab Singh Sain to replace Khattar.

In fact, Manohar Lal Khattar himself proposed the name of Nayab Singh Sain in the BJP Legislature Party meeting today.According to reports, the BJP leadership is considering fielding Manhar Lal Khattar from Karnal Lok Sabha constituency for the upcoming Haryana general elections. . . This decision was also in line with the BJP’s policy of replacing chief ministers after two terms. Therefore, Nayab Singh Saini was chosen as the chief minister after the resignation of Manohar Lal Khattar. Candidates for Karnal district have not been declared.
