In a remarkable medical feat, a team of doctors at Hapania Hospital successfully conducted a two-hour surgery on a 12-day-old infant, saving the child’s life. The infant, born to Saheb Ali and Jannatul Ferdous of Sonamura, was initially delivered on May 8 at Melaghar Hospital.
Though the newborn was stable on the first day, the situation deteriorated as the infant started vomiting the following day. The medical team at Melaghar Hospital quickly referred the baby to IGM Hospital for further evaluation. After thorough examinations at IGM Hospital, the infant was subsequently transferred to Hapania Hospital.
Upon arrival at Hapania Hospital, Dr. Basak and his team conducted comprehensive tests and discovered a severe congenital anomaly – the infant’s intestines were malrotated. Recognizing the urgency, Dr. Basak decided to proceed with an immediate surgical intervention.
The intricate surgery, which lasted two hours, was a success. Dr. Basak and his dedicated team managed to correct the malrotation of the intestines, stabilizing the infant’s condition. Post-surgery, the baby is reported to be in good health.
Dr. Basak informed that the baby is recovering well and is expected to be discharged from the hospital within a day or two. This successful operation underscores the exceptional capabilities of the medical team at Hapania Hospital and brings relief to the worried parents.
This case highlights the critical importance of timely medical intervention and the expertise available at regional healthcare facilities. The prompt actions taken by the medical teams across multiple hospitals ensured the infant received the necessary care, ultimately saving the child’s life.
